first things first.
I can’t believe my girl is TEN.
It feels like just yesterday, I was playing on this new website called (pinterest) pinning ideas for her first birthday.
that year, we did candy filled jars, a valentine’s day theme (one we would use a lot, but not as much as rainbows and unicorns > > > ) I remember how annoyed Jason was at how “overboard” he thought I had gone. . .
truly, he should have gotten out while he could > >>
(february 2010. the year I woke her up for her party, she cried the entire time, and put her candle out with hand. also, I know. my husband doesn’t age)
the next year (age two) I made a homemade cake and bought her some balloons.
I was suffering from catastrophic anxiety and depression > >> & mostly just cried all the time. so the fact that she even has pictures is a miracle .
((it would be one of the few years in her TEN that she didn’t have a birthday party))
the next year was an art party.
then a dress up / RAINBOW unicorn party.
then a donut party > > >
then a slime party > >> >
then most recently, a galentines > >>
I know I am forgetting some & honestly I’m too tired to even look for more images. . .
but alas.parties are kind of my thing.
I LOVE THEM.
& only one family member *in our family of (6) really appreciates them > >>
( ( ( this girl ) ))
I for sure missed my calling, maybe.
But honestly doing just (4) a year, for my kids, is WAYYY more than enough.
I am so tired today, I can hardly move > > >
so one of My ideas of “success” in 2022 looks like hiring out EVERY, SINGLE, DETAIL . . .
this year though, was one for the books.
& I am so thankful for the folks who helped me pull it off!
I went with the them “CLUB JULIANA” which was also “PJS + PIZZA” because I can never stick to one theme.
I found BLUSHING BALLOONS & started there.
One of my favorite bloggers in the midwest did a balloon display on the exterior of her home, and I knew I haddd to try it!
the girls absolutely nailed exactly what i wanted ((well, except I wanted all nude colors, but I knew sis would appreciate her fave, purple!)
I asked our subcontractor to make some of these letters for me, but it didn’t happen > > > so when I heard about RENT THE LIGHTS I was stoked. They didn’t have “1” and “0” as they had already been rented out, , , so I opted for spelling out TEN instead, and I actually love how it turned out, way more!
I had the display installed Tuesday evening while she was at her (3) hour dance class, and by the time she’d get home, it would be dark outside. . .
So when we woke up on Wednesday, (her actual birthday) she was able to walk out before school, and see her surprise!
This has been such a weird and wild year, for everyone.
Thankfully her party happened right before COVID kicked up last year but we’ve been in a weird funk since then.
It just so happened she started back to B&M school this week and we also signed a huge contract on our next business project, so at the time, this all felt like WAYYY to much. . . but then to wake up and see her face > > >I knew it was totessss worth it!
She also loved all the birthday honks while we were outside <3
Some of her friends said they even saw it on their ride into school > > > which if you drove down our road on Wednesday, it was pretty hard to miss!
We had dinner that evening, and then Thursday I took this display down ((with Jackson’s help)) and moved it into the studio, which we transformed into CLUB JULIANA for her birthday party, on Friday night!
Here are a few of my fave photos!
major shout out to HEATHER with EMERALD COAST CUSTOM CAKES + cookie monsters for the adorable cookies > > >
I. may or may not have gotten so sick I couldn’t move, from eating so many macaroons and cookies ((I don’t think I even ate any pizza!))
Thanks most of all to the super sweet friends who came and made the night everything it was.
My girl is SOO SOO lucky to be surrounded by some of the sweetest friends > > > & I know they all had a good time, dancing their hearts out all night long.
((Also, 100% certain I am going to turn this into our own private dance party on Valentine’s day))
happy birthday my girl, love you so much.
