But that isn’t what this post is about (though the photos, may say differntly)
Jason didn’t get me an anniversary present, per say.
7th Wedding Anniversary.
For the seventh anniversary, traditional materials are copper and wool, plus the modern gifts ideas are brass and desk sets.
With copper and brass, ideas might include jewelry and home decor such as sculptures, furniture, or appliances.
Instead, he willingly participated in the thing he hates, more than anything.
And, in a fitted suit. . .
We’d just had family photos done, earlier this year, so we weren’t really “due” although, since we never had a wedding, and we’d never been to Alaska, I figured what better time, to take some “just us” shots?!
I had a hard time finding a photographer in Alaska, so I was thankful when my good friend Jessi recommended Catie Bartlett to me!
Catie was so easy to work with!!!
We met close to a place called Hatcher’s Pass, and then spent the next few hours walking around, seeing some of the most amazing sites. . .
the views, were to die for.
Jason lovingly refers to this, as the “never ending photoshoot” since the sun didn’t set until near midnight, we spent a good while, in front of her lens.
& I am so glad, that we did.
Looking back at these, means more to me than most any gift I could have been given.
It was an unforgettable trip, and I am so thankful to Catie, for capturing some shots, of just the two of us, while we were there.
My only requests to her were as follows>
– a good nightstand shot of just #dearjason
– one BIG shot, that showed some of the amazing landscapes
I’m pretty sure though, she went above and beyond <3
If you love her work as much as I did, please be sure, and
Go give her page some love!
you guys, the water was freezing. the ground, was so wet and mushy. and I was in birks.
