we had an amazing time traveling to illinois to shoot jackson’s K3 teacher (from 10 years ago, this year!)’ s wedding in Port Byron, Illinois last month > > >
her wedding was amazing,
< < < & her family’s farm THE SAMPLE FARM was out of this world > > >
they’re like Jay, Florida, but on steroids. . .
and with all the farm colors you can imagine.
The barns, are TO DIE FOR.
all the red and white chippy.
The stones.
It’s unreal. . .
the rolling hills, are what my dreams are made of > > >
everywhere I looked, it was so beautiful that honestly I just was super overwhelmed and stimulated
and all but asked jason if he could just meet us up there, so we never had to come home. . . . .
((I now know of a great barn we could quickly turn into a venue))
we attended “miss sample’s” wedding in the am in Port Byron,
and the first set are photos from her farm house and then also the barn where they hosted their reception,
and our our trek back to chicago, we visited JONAMAC ORCHARD & were thrilled with their apple selection for some fresh pickins > > >
since it was October, most of (what I assume were locals) were super into pumpkins,
which meant we had the apple aisles all to ourselves. . .
I knew the boys would love this, as they’re both super healthy eaters and would also save me some money on hotel snacks (if we had a bag of fresh apples) which actually worked!
We ate apples for dayyyyyssss! ((and knock on wood, no one has been sick either!))
we picked and ate apples until we couldn’t take the cold any longer
and then warmed up with the most delicious apple cider I’d ever tasted, before heading to Chicago for the next few days > > >
((but not before stopping at the local walmart for extra hats and layers))
I wish we could go every single year. . .
((when someone reached out asking about my availability to travel this time next year, I almost SAID YES without even thinking about it))
but I want to save space, for new places too . . .
however > > >
If I could shoot in Alaska every July,
California each September,
Illinois every October,
New York every December
and then spend the rest of my time in Florida. . .
I’d do it in a heartbeat.
here is a quick peak at day (1) of our trip > > >
So thankful for Beth having us out.
I made memories with my boys that will last an entire lifetime. . .
My favorite quick story, about Beth & Jackson, and their connection. . .
When Jackson was three years old he was obsessed with 3 things.
Speedometers, trains and Miss Sample.
When asked who the most beautiful woman in the world was he replied “MISS SAMPLE”
🙂
thankful to return some lovely photos, to a lovely lady, who had a hand in helping me raise my oldest <3
((but also refused to keep my wild one with her in Port Byron))
